HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
I come from a family of good country cooks. Growing up, the kitchen was always the heart of the house and was a welcoming and comforting place.
Our home is 60km from town so the conveniences of a midweek takeaway don’t really happen here. If we feel like Indian, Thai, Mexican or Italian then I create something from what we have. The recipes I have included here have evolved over time and are current staples in our house.
These recipes use a few different cuts to help you with some ideas and methods of cooking. Although scotch fillet or sirloin are absolute favourites for a beautiful steak on the BBQ, these premium cuts only represent part of a whole beast. There are cuts that are best enjoyed with a slower approach but are just as heartwarming.
You will find these recipes are designed for a busy person who wants a decent meal on the table but doesn’t have all day to get it there. Fiona x
